HIBIKI KOBAYASHI

Asian Society of Arts

Hibiki Kobayashi, a Japanese photographer was born in Niigata, Japan. In 1992, his work was exhibited at the International Photo Festival in Monaco to widespread critical acclaim. His photographs have been exhibited in Tokyo, Paris, and other international cities as well. His first published book, “tribe” was inspired by a group of the world’s indigenous peoples in the Middle East, Africa, South America, and the Pacific Rim. Kobayashi’s unsentimental and unflinching view leaves people wondering about the future of indigenous tribes’ traditions, cultures, and their lives. Hibiki currently resides in New York and keeps searching the few remaining out of the reach in various cultures of the world.
