Nahomi Maki, a Japanese 3D/2D animation artist studied conceptual and media arts at Kyoto City University in Japan.  She continued her studies in 3D computer graphics and visual effects at the University of Southern California, where she received her MFA in Animation & Digital Arts in 2008. Her haunting and beautiful animated film, Swimming Moon (2009) has been screened at four separate Academy Award Qualifying Film Festivals: the Annecy International Animated Film Festival (June 2009, Annecy, France); the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (May 009); the Slamdance Film Festival (January 2009); and the world renowned Cannes Film Festival (May 2006). Nahomi currently resides in Los Angeles and continues integrating her imagination and art into the 3D world
